This place is fabulous. It’s just a few miles away from New Buffalo and the hustle but close enough to get the full experience of that town as well. The rooms are clean and very cozy. As for the breakfast and customer service, I cannot speak enough praise. We also enjoyed the complimentary bicycles and the short walk to the beach which is right across the road. Go ahead and book. You won’t regret it!

 Verified Warm fireplaces and warmer hospitality!
Had a lovely getaway weekend in the Whisperwood room, a quiet first-floor room in the Pier House. Enjoyed the warmth and crackle of a fire in our own Swedish fireplace. Delighted by one the best breakfasts out that I have ever had - for beauty, quality, taste and variety. Warm hospitality by Bill and his dog Maggie made us feel welcome in the Great Room anytime we liked. The location was perfect to walk to the beach, a greenway trail, and also to a fun dinner at Red Arrow Roadhouse. Thanks to all the staff at the Inn at Union Pier for a lovely stay!

 Verified A Perfect Getaway - Highly Recommend!
Our stay at the Inn at Union Pier was wonderful! Even though we were only there for one night, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and were incredibly welcoming. We only had breakfast during our stay, but it was absolutely delicious and a great start to our day. The inn's location is perfect—just a short walk to the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan and a quick drive to New Buffalo, where we explored charming shops, breweries, and restaurants. For a relaxing retreat in an ideal location, the Inn at Union Pier is an excellent choice. We can’t wait to come back!

WOW!! Beautiful Inn, very friendly staff that made you feel right at home and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious! They have beach chairs for you to use and bicycles too at no extra cost! The beach is a very short walk and it's breathtaking! Our room was fantastic and the bed was super comfy! The history of this Inn is so interesting as well. 100% would go back and highly recommend!  Verified Can't say enough good things!
All aspects of our stay were just great. Owner and staff are all the friendliest you could want. Rooms and outdoor garden/sitting areas were attractive, comfortable, and inviting. Full breakfasts were all great (and so was the service). Location is amazing (30 second walk from beach access). Outdoor hot tub a bonus. I can't say enough good things about this place. We've been there three or four times over the years and will definitely be back if we go to Union Pier.

 Verified Great place to get away for a weekend
Great place steps from the beach. Place was awesome. Mary Ann the manager was first class. You can tell ownership has good people in charge. Grounds were well taken care of. No issues with parking. They have bikes and beach chairs for you to use. If you are looking for a nice weekend to spend with your spouse. This a great place to do it. Breakfast was excellent and served with some flair.  Verified Anniversary bliss
My husband and I stayed 4/19-4/21/24. We went to Napa Valley, CA for our honeymoon, so we were looking to recreate that experience a little closer to home for our 16th anniversary. Union Pier is only a 90 minute drive from our home. The inn is very charming and cozy, the great house has a piano, fireplace, comfy couches and chairs. Tables and board games. Wine is served in the evening, so we had a glass after checking in and heading to dinner. Peg was very welcoming and attentive. Our room was lovely. We stayed in a Room with a View in The Pier House. Very comfortable king size bed, a kakelugn (KAH--kel-oon) Swedish fireplace. We lit the fireplace Saturday night since it was a crisp evening. Spacious bathroom with tub and shower and a balcony to look over the flagstone courtyard and some of the flowers making their spring debut. Marion took care of each morning with breakfast, I'm sorry I didn't get the name of her assistant chef. Good coffee and delicious breakfast. Lake Michigan is just minutes from the inn, you can hear the water as soon as you step outside. We took a walk to the beach both days. We'll definitely be back.

 Verified Wonderful weekend away
We love this inn, very easy getaway from Chicago area, steps to Lake Mich., yummy homemade breakfast and snacks, cozy rooms/fireplaces, library, comfortable sitting areas, wine hour, new hot tub, easy walk to neighborhood market/restaurants, plus all-around friendly hospitality - thank you Mary Ann, Peg, Lori and staff! We enjoyed learning more about the history this time, the inn is lovingly maintained with 13 kakelugn (Swedish antique fireplaces) which is so unique. See you next time!

 Verified Great New Buffalo area getaway
Had a wonderful weekend at Inn at Union Pier. Spectacular location near the beach access, enjoyed biking on complimentary bikes, wood burning fireplace in our room, comfy beds and spotless rooms. Genuinely nice staff as well and crazy good popcorn! Breakfast burritos were amazing! We really enjoyed our time here and will return.
